K-dramas, or Korean dramas, are known for their distinctive and engrossing storytelling that has won over viewers from all over the world. You might not be aware though, that some of your favorite k dramas were adaptations from English movies. Here are some of the notable k-dramas that have been adapted from English movies and their unique twist to these stories.
The World Of The Married

The world of the married is a remake of the BBC series- Doctor Foster. Both series revolve around a doctor who finds out her husband is cheating on her and plots her revenge on her cheating husband and his mistress but while Doctor foster is more subtle and restrained in its approach, The World Of The Married is a south Korean melodrama that makes an extensive use of emotional tension and over-the-top scenes. Despite the similarities in their theme, the two series are distinct in their own right due to differences in the cultural setting, tone, style and plot.
Both dramas did very well with Doctor Foster gaining an average rating of 7.7/10 on IMDb and The world Of the Married gaining a nationwide rating of 28.37% on its last episode, overtaking Sky Castle and making it the highest-rated drama in South Korean cable television history.
